To the poet who became my critic (KOSTIS PALAMAS)

To the poet who became my critic (KOSTIS PALAMAS)

Whatever you do ,

wherever you act,

whichever race you come from,

being mine or a stranger,

of the evil! In front of you,

you will always have me,

you run behind me,

do not make your running faster

and be out of breath.

Remember me,

Such the law:

the pedestrian area

of a concern you’ll be,

and I’ll be the rider of a grace.

Costis Palamas

Translated by Chrysovalanti Nomikou

(The translation is based on the original Greek poem)
