01 May “I really live ” truly means that I am who I am (JORGE BUCAY)
“I really live ” truly means that I am who I am.Independently and beyond who you are and what you expect from me.Your presence completes me and ensures me, however, it does not define me.
“I really live ” means, precisely, that I leave behind all identities that I created for others.
I leave the role that I invented to enter a particular society. I release what I call “my true self,” which is synonymous to “the hidden hero.”
But … how can I realize if I am the one who I really am, or whether I play the role of what I have been told that I am?
First of all, by taking seriously the third of my three truths (someone can always say “no”) and making the (heroic, with no doubt) decision to never let myself be pressured to become something that is not .
That’s enough. There is no need to mention anything else.
In other words:
Do I do what I do because I want it, or do I try to thank someone?
The best thing that I have, even if you do not like it, is what I am.
The best thing that all of you have, even if nobody likes it, is what each of you is.
And we may be many that we do not like it.
Nevertheless … it’s worthwhile.
I always say, more like a joke and less seriously:
When someone pretends, when impersonating a celebrity, creates a lot of relationships, hypocritical, diplomatic, of very little value and little importance.
On the other hand, when people act as they really are… they are not approached even by a cat!
