The jellyfish of the kind Turritopsis nutricula seems to be the only animal that has discovered the secret of eternal youth.This jellyfish has the ability to pass from the mature adult stage to the immature stage of the polypus and again from the beginning.Thus, basically, there is no limit to its life expectancy.
According to the scientists, it is the only known animal that can continuously turning back the time clock. The “key” of this admirable capacity is hidden in a process which is called continuous redifferentiation.Some animals have a limited capacity of such diversification “by generating” some of their organs, such as salamanders. However, Turritopsis nutricula can regenerate its whole body again and again.For this reason it has captured the curiosity of scientists, who are seeking how the jellyfish reverses the aging process. Certainly, since this animal overcomes the death, the species has already flooded the oceans, while experts talk about an impending silent worldwide raid .
