21 Jun You do not have to become anybody else than who you already are because, in essence, you are already perfect. (MARIO ALONSO PUIG)
We have forgotten who we really are and consequently have taken on a new identity that leaves us empty inside, because it doesn’t fit in with the way we live today (whatever we may have materially). In order to make up for this feeling of emptiness, we try to dress up this false identity so that it appears more exuberant and valuable. For this reason, we often dream of that person we would like to be and with that way of acting that we would like to act.
Our personal and social lives are full of “shoulds”, or “ought to’s” and “you shouldn’ts”. In this way, we have to be more cautious, and not be so naive. Also, we need to be more wary and not be so trusting of others. All these demands make perfect sense when you see yourself as having defects and lacking something, but they don’t make sense when you understand what is beyond your apparent identity. It is a place full of intelligence, creativity and love. One that is naturally perfect, and therefore, complete.
So, the training that truly offers results is not the kind which helps us to improve our false identity so that we are as we and others wish us to be, but rather that which helps us to transcend that same identity to find out who we really are.
You do not have to become anybody else than who you already are because, in essence, you are already perfect. That is, complete. The only thing that you perhaps need to discover is what really lies behind the words I AM.
Reinventing Yourself
