Spring (FRIEDRICH HOLDERLIN)

Spring (FRIEDRICH HOLDERLIN)

The new day comes down from the far mountains,

The morning wakening is out of twilight,

Adorned and cheerful, and it smiles at humans,

It pierces humans, gently, with delight.

A new life for the future is unveiling,

With blossom, sign of happy days,

The wide valley, the earth seems to be filling,

And far away when springtime comes grief goes.
