02 Apr A letter to my daughter
Before I die, I need to be sure that I’ve taught you thoroughly :
Το enjoy love
To have faith in your strength
To face your fears
To enjoy life
To ask for help when you need it
To allow others to console you when you are down
To make your own decisions
To defend your choices
To be friend of yourself
Not to fear being ridiculed
To know that you deserve to be loved
To talk to others gently
To choose to either speak your mind or stay quiet which ever may fit best at the moment
To take the credit for your achievements
To love and take care of the little girl you hide inside you
To surpass approval addiction
Not to absorb everyone’s responsibilities
To be conscious of your feelings and act accordingly
Not to follow applause but choose your own satisfaction,
To give because you want to give, not because you think it’s your obligation to give
To demand to be fairly compensated for your hard work
To accept your limitations without anger
Not to impose your beliefs on others and not allow others to impose their beliefs on you
To say “yes” when you really want to and say “no” without guilt
To live the present without expectations
To get more risks
To accept change and review your beliefs.
To try to heal your old and recent wounds
To behave and demand to be treated with respect
To fill your cup first and then fill the cup of others
To plan your future but live the moment
To value your intuition
To enjoy the differences between the sexes
To develop healthy relationships of mutual support
To have as a priority the understanding and forgiveness
To accept yourself just as you are
Not to look back to see who is following you
To be capable of growing in the midst of your downfalls
To let yourself burst into laughter while walking down the street for no reason at all.
Not to idolize anyone and especially not me.
A letter to my daughter
