He invited Euclid, the Greek mathematician called &#8220;the father of geometry,&#8221; to Alexandria to teach him.<\/p>\n<p>After a week or so, Ptolemy told Euclid that the process of studying geometry was too slow. He wasn&#8217;t like Euclid&#8217;s other students.
