\nInto the sight of broken factory windows of emptiness
\nInto bars where people no longer speak to each other
\nInto fist fights that end as shootings and knifings
\nBorn into this
\nInto hospitals which are so expensive that it’s cheaper to die
\nInto lawyers who charge so much it’s cheaper to plead guilty
\nInto a country where the jails are full and the madhouses closed
\nInto a place where the masses elevate fools into rich heroes
\nBorn into this
\nWalking and living through this
\nDying because of this
\nMuted because of this
\nCastrated
\nDebauched
\nDisinherited
\nBecause of this
\nFooled by this
\nUsed by this
\nPissed on by this
\nMade crazy and sick by this
\nMade violent
\nMade inhuman
\nBy this
\nThe heart is blackened
\nThe fingers reach for the throat
\nThe gun
\nThe knife
\nThe bomb
\nThe fingers reach toward an unresponsive god
\nThe fingers reach for the bottle
\nThe pill
\nThe powder
\nWe are born into this sorrowful deadliness
\nWe are born into a government 60 years in debt
\nThat soon will be unable to even pay the interest on that debt
\nAnd the banks will burn
\nMoney will be useless
\nThere will be open and unpunished murder in the streets
\nIt will be guns and roving mobs
\nLand will be useless
\nFood will become a diminishing return
\nNuclear power will be taken over by the many
\nExplosions will continually shake the earth
\nRadiated robot men will stalk each other
\nThe rich and the chosen will watch from space platforms
\nDante’s Inferno will be made to look like a children’s playground
\nThe sun will not be seen and it will always be night
\nTrees will die
\nAll vegetation will die
\nRadiated men will eat the flesh of radiated men
\nThe sea will be poisoned
\nThe lakes and rivers will vanish
\nRain will be the new gold
\nThe rotting bodies of men and animals will stink in the dark wind
\nThe last few survivors will be overtaken by new and hideous diseases
\nAnd the space platforms will be destroyed by attrition
\nThe petering out of supplies
\nThe natural effect of general decay
\nAnd there will be the most beautiful silence never heard
\nBorn out of that.
\nThe sun still hidden there
\nAwaiting the next chapter.<\/p>\n
