With wings of the wind they cross the sea\u2019s huge gulfs, s<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

hrouded in mist and cloud\u2014no fear in the world of foundering, <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

fatal shipwreck. True, there\u2019s an old tale I heard my father <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

telling once. Nausithous used to say that lord Poseidon was <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

vexed with us because we escorted all mankind and never<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

came to grief. He said that one day, as a well-built ship of ours <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

sailed home on the misty sea from such a convoy, the god would<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

crush it, yes, and pile a huge mountain round about our port.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
